GODZ USELESS BAND FACTS - QÜEENSRYCHE
![]() |
American band from Bellevue, Washington formed in 1981.
Original lineup of Geoff Tate (Vocals), Michael Wilton (Guitars),
Eddie Jackson (Bass), Scott Rockenfield (Drums), and Chris DeGarmo (Guitars) has been intact since formed with the exception
of Chris DeGarmo.
. Geoff Tate was the last original memeber to join the band after he left the group "Myth" to join Qüeensryche which was known as "The Mob". They changed their name from "The Mob" to Qüeensryche based on their song "Queen of the Reich". Though Queensryche had a strong and dedicated following in the Rock/Metal community, their first song to chart was "Silent Lucidity" from their 4th album "Empire" which hit #7 on the Billboard charts. Guitarist, Chris DeGarmo, left the band in 1998 and his slot in the
band has been filled by Kelly Gray and Mike Stone over the years. DeGarmo still does some song writing and plays occasionally
for the band.
. In 2003, Qüeensryche toured with Dream Theater and Fates Warning in a very successful tour of progressive Rock/Metal greats. Legendary singer, Ronnie James Dio, appeared on the 2006 album "Operation:Mindcrime II" as the voice of the evil Dr. X. Pamela Moore also reprised her role as the voice of Sister Mary in the classic concept album from Qüeensryche. Geoff Tate released a self titled solo album in 2002 and Michael Wilton has recorded with his band Soulbender. In 2009, Qüeensryche released "American Soldier" another concept album that is told from a soldiers point of view from various Wars including WW II, Vietnam, and the current Iraq/Afghanistan wars. |
